Gastronomy

Umbrian typical cuisine is characterized mainly by ingredients and cooking methods faithful to medieval traditions. Many dishes indeed have changed little in time, as they are still prepared by broiling, roasting, and “al testo” (which literally means cake of the tile, and it is actually a quick flat bread cooked on a tile placed over an open fire, as it was done in the big kitchens with chimney from medieval age).

Extra-virgin olive oil is central to the local culinary tradition, and we are producers of our own oil brand. The Trasimeno Lake provides also excellent fish which can be tasted in a few and selected restaurants in the area.

Our big kitchen with fireplace which recall medieval atmospheres, is fully equipped and it is available also as a setting for cooking courses and local wine and food tastings. We do not offer restaurant services but upon request it is possible to provide catering services or a “chef on demand”, for your business luncheons and coffee-breaks during meetings and conventions.
